DST1-300 and DSCR-300 Shutter Redesigned For 4-Inch Cathode

DSCR-300 and DST1-300 coating systems with 4-inch cathode now are supplied with a double shutters that fully cover the target area for more controllable sputter deposition.

Vac Coat desk sputter and carbon coaters DSCR-300 and DST1-300 are ideal SEM coaters that are widely used to deposit thin films of different materials on samples for electron microscope sample preparation and research purposes.

Based on the customer’s preferences, these sputter coaters are offered with a 2 or 4-inch cathode, where the 4-inch cathode provides a higher deposition rate and more uniform coatings over larger sample areas.

However, the typical shutters used for 2-inch cathodes cannot fully cover the target surface, which can result in unwanted layer deposition. Large-plate shutter movement is limited inside the vacuum chamber and may collide with other parts of the chamber.

Now, the newly designed double shutters facilitates shutter movement inside the chamber by opening each piece in opposite directions, one clockwise and the other counterclockwise.
